On 1 August 2022 amendments to Section 5 of The Vocational Education Law “Levels of Vocational qualifications in the Latvian Qualifications Framework” came into force, which resulted in a transition from 5 levels of professional qualification to 8 levels of professional qualification. The Vocational Education Law states that "The levels of professional qualification correspond to the same level of Latvian Qualification framework level".
